The city of love, fashion and museums: Paris

Car rental Paris, the best way to explore the city of love, fashion and museums. Even the Holy Grail can be found in Paris.  After the publishing of the best seller “The Da Vinci Code” by Dan Brown in 2004 and the debut of the movie two years later, France’s capital experienced a rush of Brown fanatics who traveled to every location mentioned in the book in search of clues.  So park your rental car, and visit the many stunning scenes of Paris.

One of the most famous museums in the world as well as the setting for the beginning and end of “The Da Vinci Code” is the Louvre where you can find the major attraction, the Mona Lisa. So park your rental car and visit this world famous museum.

During the high season the desire to visit the museum is very high, and can result in seemingly long waits, and therefore it is recommended that you go early in the morning to beat the crowd. With respect to finding your rental car a parking spot, we reccomend leaving early enough to give yourself enough time to get setteled.  Students that want to save a little money should visit the museum on Fridays after 6:00pm so they can receive free entry if under 26 years old.  In addition, there is free entry on the first Sunday of every month for every museum owned by the Louvre.

There are over 160 museum, 200 galleries, and 100 theaters in Paris – More than enough culture to visit for a couple weeks with your rental car.

Enjoy a spectacular view of Paris from the Eiffel Tower

Even more famous than the Louvre is the Eiffel Tower, the city’s most famous land mark.  The tower is #1 for photo opportunities, and the backdrop for uncountable love stories.  Over six million visitors a year enjoy the view of Paris’s rooftops from platforms located 190, 380, and 900 feet above the ground.  There is both a restaurant and an exhibit about the history of the tower located on the first platform. By booking a rental car in Paris, you will be able to visit all of the major sites within a reasonable amount of time!

For those who don’t have time to wait in line and catch a glimpse of Paris from the Eiffel Tower should consider the alternative Tour Montparnasse.  Here can get a perfect view of Paris from nearly 700 feet up while enjoying a meal in the sky scrapers restaurant, bar, or terrace.  The most famous monument in Paris is the Arc de Triomphe which Napoleon had built in the beginning of the 19th century.  In the center of the Place Charles de Gaulle-Etoile stands a 164 foot high structure that provides yet another breath taking view.  You can climb the over 284 stairs to the roof, however be aware that only those who feel up to the challenge should attempt to do this as the tiny stairwell provides little to no opportunity to take a break in mid climb.  Right under the roof is a museum before getting to the top.  From up there you can enjoy a fantastic view of the Champs Elysees Boulevard with the Louvre at the end. The Champs Elysees Boulevard has lost a little bit of its glamour; however it is well worth a pleasant stroll down the charming street filled with high end stores and restaurants.  The Avenue Montaigne also branches off of this street where there designer stores are lined up waiting for their customers.  Don’t be put off by the high prices, because you can always find something that pleases your wallet in the large department store, Les Galeries Lafayette. Take your rental car down this street and enjoy the many shops in Paris.

Hear, dance and feel the culture of Paris

A particular type of enjoyment can be found in the legendary Mouline Rouge, the home of the Cancan.  Those who don’t want to just want to see the mill and red neon lights from outside, can attend a night show, but should be prepared to spend at least 80 Euros. The show, however, is well worth the price.  A secrete tip is the Erotic museum that resides a few streets down from Moulin Rouge.  Here you can see bazaar exotic toys from different centuries and from all around the world. Car rental Paris will let you not only discover France's capital city, but also give you room to fill your rental car with gifts from abroad to bring back home!

Visit the world famous churches with your rental car in Pairs

Another item on the long list of tourist attractions in Paris is the large number churches. To visit these magnificant wonders, park your rental car downtown and take a walking tour of Paris.  Notre Dame is the Church in which Napoleon crowned himself.  It took 170 years until the magnificent gothic building was finished.  The Panthéon, errected in the 18th century, resembles a Greek temple from outside. The Sacré Coeur on the Montmatres hill impresses many with its massive mosaic of Jesus Christ inside.  This quick detour to the adjacent art quarter is worth a visit.

Take your rental car and explore what the areas around Paris have to offer

For those who have a rental car and a little time to venture to Versailles right outside of Paris should definitely see the Hall of mirrors and the grandiose castle gardens with the crossing basin.  The Disneyland Resort – Paris can be reached within a half an hour with your rental car, and offers a great change of pace from all of the museums and churches.
