All-Inclusive Plus Package 

Brand-new with CarDelMar: in addition to the All-Inclusive package the All-Inclusive Plus package now also insures a refund of excess including damage to glass and tyres.

This is how it works: book the way you are used to it on cardelmar.com. During the third booking step you now have the possibility to upgrade your insurance package for a small charge to e.g. the All-Inclusive package.

Tips for booking with CarDelMar 

Booking a car with CarDelMar is easy and secure. Please find below some tips for your reservations.

CarDelMar prices
CarDelMar prices are updated daily, i.e. the price that you pay for your hired car is an updated price valid only on the date of booking. If you alter your booking (e.g. change the length of the rental period, vehicle group or country), you will be charged the original reservation price.

Information on Refuelling
There are three options for filling the fuel tank on return of the vehicle:

1. Empty to empty - i.e. the fuel tank is empty when the vehicle is collected and is to be returned empty.
2. Full to full - i.e. the tank is full when the vehicle is collected and is to be returned full.
3. Full to empty - i.e. the fuel tank is full when the vehicle is collected and is to be returned empty. In this case, the full tank of fuel must be paid for in advance on collection.
Please note which of the above options is quoted in your car hire company rental contract in order to avoid any extra costs.

CarDelMar package with refund of excess
The rental price includes fully comprehensive insurance, or similar, in respect of damage to the hired car, with theft coverage also included in each case. If the local rental company only offers cover with excess, it will retain the amount not covered by the comprehensive insurance from your deposit, up to the amount of the excess.

Please note: many of our rental partners require a valid credit card as security for a deposit or excess amount. If the hire car is involved in an accident, damaged or stolen, the rental firm will retain the amount not covered by the comprehensive insurance from the excess or deposit.
CarDelMar will refund the deposit/excess only under an all-inclusive package and in accordance with the following conditions:

In the event of accident / damage, it is imperative that the following procedure is observed:

- inform the rental agency immediately
- if a third party is involved, contact the local police, who will issue a report. This report is to be submitted to CarDelMar on your return.
- when you return the hired vehicle, ensure that the rental agency compiles a damage report that should be signed by both the local rental company and by you. This report must also be submitted to CarDelMar on your return.

To obtain a refund of the excess under our refund of excess agreement, the following documentation must be submitted to CarDelMar:

- The damage report signed by the local rental company and by you.
- The police report, a copy of the rental contract and proof that the deposit was paid in cash or charged to your credit card.

The deposit/excess shall not be refunded in the event of:

- Damage due to failure to observe the general terms and conditions of rental, especially damage caused by driving on unmade roads.
- Damage due to drunk-driving or gross negligence.
- Loss of or damage to the car keys. Damage to the tyres, glass, roof, chassis or oil sump. Losses resulting from the theft of personal belongings left in the hired car and all consequential losses, e.g. vehicle recovery costs, hotel costs etc. and the loss of personal belongings.

We ask our customers to note that no refund can be given if the local insurance company refuses to settle the principal claim. The terms and conditions of the local car rental firm apply.

Reservation Procedure 

You can book online or through our call centre. Payment is made by credit card. At the end of the online booking process, you will see a "Summary" or booking confirmation, on which the reservation number is given. Print this page as confirmation. After making a booking online or through our call centre, you will also receive a voucher by email (PDF), fax or mail. This voucher must be submitted to the local rental firm to allow collection of your vehicle.


What is a rental agreement?

A rental contract is the official contract that is signed by the local rental company and the customer before collection of the vehicle. This agreement states all terms and conditions of the local rental company regarding the rental, description of the vehicle and the applicable tariff. A rental day always consists of 24 hours.

 

How do I know that my online booking has been confirmed?

At the end of the online booking process, a "Summary" or booking confirmation appears, on which the reservation number is given. Immediately after the booking has been made, you will also receive a voucher and copy of the invoice by email (both PDF).
Print out a copy of the invoice and voucher for your records.

 

Are there any age restrictions on hiring a car from CarDelMar?

The age requirements depend on the country and type of car. In some cases a surcharge may be made for certain groups (e.g. young drivers under the age of 21 or 25).

How are my personal and credit card details protected?

CarDelMar's website is secured with a 128 bit code by Verisign. All sensitive data, such as your credit card and personal data are coded and protected using the SSL system (Secure Socket Layer) before being transferred. Your data cannot, therefore, be intercepted by a third party.

The details which you have provided in order to rent a vehicle shall only be transferred to local car hire firm to the extent necessary for performance of the rental agreement. Your personal or payment details will not be passed to a third party, except in the case of a legal or governmental requirement, e.g. in order to combat credit card fraud.
